MiraFit Multi Function

Target Every Major Muscle Group

Mirafit VKR Gym Power Tower is great for many different reasons. For starters, the model's able to support a 150-kilogram load, a little more than your average free-standing pull-up bar structure. It comes equipped with a fully functional sit-up bar, so you'll be able to truly target your abs. The foot restraints are adjustable, making sure that the legs stay in place for an effective workout session.

Other than that, it's the little and more or less usual things. The backrest is a little angled, making it particularly suitable for vertical knee and leg raises. The non-slip grips are as non-slip as they come.

In fact, probably the only issue we have with the model in general is that the grips are a little stiff. Sure, there's practically no chance that your hands will slip but we would recommend going with gym gloves anyway so that you don't end up with multiple calluses.

The overall construction is solid. The backrest and the arm pads are made from thick high-density foam and come fitted with reinforced vinyl padding. The steel frame is just as thick and robust. The finish is heat-treated, making the model particularly durable.

Bottom line, Mirafit VKR Gym Power Tower will work wonders for experienced athletes. The model is as multifunctional as they come. It will let you target and effectively exercise abs, arms, back, and core muscles. Plus, it should be able to serve you for years to come. In other words, this is arguably the best free-standing pull-up bar here.

Bodymax CF360

Rugged Tubular Steel

The people behind Bodymax CF360 advertise it as a deluxe power tower. We don't really know whether "deluxe" is the word we'd go with but it is definitely not a misleading name, we can give the company that much. The reinforced frame with rugged and robust tubular steel is virtually immune to warping and general deformation. The powder-coated finish is just as durable, protecting the power tower against rust and corrosion buildup.

As far as functionality is concerned, the model's just as impressive. The pull-up bar here is facing forward, making it more comfortable than the contrary. The dip bar/knee raise support comes with ample padding.

There's an adjustable press-up bar. The model comes equipped with a foot restraint that will allow you to effectively perform sit-ups. The non-slip grips on this free-standing pull-up bar are really nice, effective but comfortable at the same time.

Of course, the model doesn't come without its flaws. The pull-bar up is 100cm wide, a little shorter than your average bar like that. The whole thing isn't necessarily small, so prepare to sacrifice a decent amount of floor room.

All in all, Bodymax CF360 is many things and ineffective and impractical aren't one of these things. It will let you exercise with enough comfort and convenience but not too much to make you lazy and/or complacent. What's more, the build quality here is superb.

DTX Fitness Squat Rack

A Different Beast

What DTX Fitness offers here is different from every other entry in this selection. It isn't necessarily your usual power tower and more of a squat rack/power cage that comes equipped with a pull-up bar. As you'd imagine, a model like that has its advantages and disadvantages.

There are no arm pads here, so you won't be able to perform knee raises. Naturally, there aren't any tricep dip bars as well, so those are out of the question as well.

Instead, the model comes equipped with 28 adjustable barbell rest heights and 2 weight plate storage bars at the rear. It is perfect for squats. The power cage will allow you to perform bench presses. Sure, the bench, barbell, and weight plates are sold separately but the price reflects that.

The pull-up bar here is as good as they come. It is really wide (about 130 centimetres), so you'll be able to effectively perform standard and wide-grip pull-ups regardless of your stature and wingspan. Plus, it comes with knurled grips.

The thick 50mm steel tube construction is strong and durable and the grey powder-coated steel finish with black detailing makes the model look nice and sleek.

To sum it up, DTX Fitness Squat Rack Power Cage isn't your average free-standing pull-up bar. Sure, it will let you perform pull-ups and chin-ups as well as the next model. It won't let you target your abs but the model will allow you to do squats and bench presses.

Gravity Fitness GFPT12

Complete Bodyweight Workout

With Gravity Fitness GFPT12, you'll be able to perform a complete bodyweight workout. The model comes equipped with every little detail and major part necessary for pull-ups, chin-ups, tricep dips, knee raises, and press-ups.

The base isn't too wide (70 centimetres) but the pull-up bar is more than wide enough for your average wingspan (about 105 centimetres).

The model comes supplied with a comprehensive instruction manual and every tool necessary to put it together, so you shouldn't have any major issues setting this power tower up.

The 50mm tubular steel frame is really sturdy but surprisingly lightweight. We wouldn't necessarily call it portable but we wouldn't say the opposite either. You should definitely be able to find enough room for it at home. The backrest and the arm pads incorporate soft, thick, and long-lasting padding.

On the not-so-bright side, the paint job here is passable at best. There's a decent chance it might start chipping off after a few years. It isn't necessarily an objective downside but the pull-up bar here isn't facing forward, which is something that people may find a little inconvenient.

On the flip side, the non-skid rubber feet are great. They keep the tower in place without damaging the floors.

In other words, with this pull-up mate, you won't require any additional exercise equipment. This free-standing pull-up bar will let you target every major muscle group. Considering the price tag, that's not a bad investment.

Xn8 Sports Adjustable

Choose the Height

Xn8 Sports VKR Station is a good model because it was designed with various customers in mind. It's the little things but these little things count so much for people with relatively irregular statures. The biggest difference here is the fact that the pull-up bar's height is very much adjustable.

More expensive power towers usually solve this issue with steps but the model's within this price range seldom add anything like that. Here, the model lets you choose between 164 and 215 centimetres. It is not difficult to adjust.

On top of that, this piece of pull-up equipment comes with press-up handles, so you'll be able to target and engage just about every major muscle group, including the chest. Sure, there are no bars for regular push-ups but you can always do those anywhere else.

Apart from that, there's nothing here we haven't seen before. The backrest and the arm pads are soft but firm enough. The non-skid rubber feet are just as firm and reliable. The non-slip grips are really nice, snug but grippy at the same time.

All things considered, Xn8 Sports VKR Station is excellent for shorter people. It isn't necessarily bad for taller people too. In fact, the model's great for the whole family. It will help you build muscles or, at the very least, keep yourself in a decent shape.

What Is a Free-Standing Pull-Up Bar?

A free-standing pull-up bar is a much better name than "power tower". Now that's a peculiar name, wouldn't you say so? Not necessarily too peculiar compared to an inversion table or Smith machine but relatively odd anyway. However odd it may be, the name's a little more accurate considering that pull-up is not the only exercise these things let you perform. More often than not, a construction like that incorporates the necessary bars, pads, rests, and handles for dips, knee raises, push-ups, and sit-ups.

The biggest (and the only) difference between your average power tower and a free-standing pull-up bar is that the latter sometimes comes without these little additions but instead the rests and storage bars for squats and bench presses.

Of course, different model's construction is as much about different bars and handles as it is about the materials involved. In addition to the whole durability aspect, the material(s) often determine the maximum load that the model's able to support. Lastly, make sure that the equipment's overall dimensions fit you and the room you're looking to place it into.
